Training sessions at our club combine Kihon, Kumite and Kata . What is delivered is based on the general needs of the class. The dojo is a full time dojo ideal for locals and visitors to Sydney. Suited for professionals that work in the city CBD area as well as for locals who live in Sydney. If you are a traveller from any part of the world and you wish to keep up your training regime this dojo is located near to many of the cities hotels and youth hostels. Sensei Frank Nowak
Born on 6th October 1947 in Germany, Mr Nowak's first contact with Karate-Do was in early 1963. He practised five to six times per week and after four years, at the age of 20, he scored a double success by winning the German National Kata Championship a day after being graded for 1st Dan black belt.
Zanshin Shotokan, Started By Sensei Frank Nowak in 1986 is a Style of Shotokan associated with JKA that Embodies the fighting spirit with strong emphasis on the Jyu Ippon Kumite and Bunkai Aspect of Kata.
Shotokan (松濤館流 Shōtōkan-ryū?) is a style of karate, developed from various martial arts by Gichin Funakoshi (1868–1957) and his son Gigo (Yoshitaka) Funakoshi (1906–1945). Gichin was born in Okinawa and is widely credited with popularizing karate through a series of public demonstrations, and by promoting the development of university karate clubs, including those at Keio, Waseda, Hitotsubashi (Shodai), Takushoku, Chuo, Gakushuin, and Hosei.
Japan Karate Association (日本 空手 協会; Nihon Karate Kyokai; JKA; sometimes referred to simply as Kyokai 協会 in Japan) is one of the most influential Shotokan karate organizations in the world. It is also one of the oldest karate organizations continuously in operation until the present.
